Update on Lincoln

Lincoln's had is cochlear implant for 6 months now so I thought it was time for an update. I am SO happy to say that he is doing FABULOUS! That is actually a direct quote from his teacher. I can say with total confidence that he is hearing, listening, and in the beginning stages of talking. Lincoln is experimenting with his voice, babbling, and is learning that language is powerful. He says Mama, Dada, night night, Buba, meow, and arf-arf. He can imitate the following sounds: ah, ooh, ga, u, sh, o, ha, he, and continues to add more sounds daily. he impresses me everyday. It is such a joy to watch him explore the world of sound. He works hard attending school 3 days a week. His teachers tell me Lincoln has not only met but exceed their expectations. Soon we will hear him start to put these speech sound together to make more words. Excitement Awaits....

Oak Glen

Sunday we went to Oak Glen with our friends the Flemings, Roginas, and Cornetts. We picked fresh apples, got lost in the corn maze, and had a picnic lunch. Gavin and Lincoln loved playing outside with their friends and of course Dusty and I did too!

Our Trip to the Bahamas

We went to the Bahamas to celebrate Dusty and Laci's 30th Birthdays. We stayed at the RIU on Paradise Island. Our hotel was right next to Atlantis, which is an amazing hotel. So we spent a lot of time there. We had 5 wonderful days with our friends. We swam in the beautiful turquoise water, walked on the white sandy beaches, soaked in the pool, played games, ate, drank, danced, laughed, and my favorite part, sleeping in!

The tropical depression hit the islands on the 3rd day of our trip. We didn't let let stop us from having a good time. We took a taxi to Bay Street for some shopping. Then we took a walk down the beach to a local fish fry. We were SOAKED but it was super fun!

Dusty climbed this tree and picked coconuts for all the guys to open. It took them quite some time!

This is one of my favorite pictures from our trip. We bought one of these conch shells to bring home with us.

Most of all...I LOVED spending some quality time with my husband!!
